Padmasambava,”The one born within the lotus”, also known as Guru Rinpoche, was an Indian tantric master who played a major role in bringing Vajrayana Buddhism to Tibet in the 8th century. He helped establish the first Buddhist monastery in Samye and is considered the founder of the Nyingma school, the oldest of the four major traditions of Tibetan Buddhism. His practice dispels all obstacles and worldly problems and is excellent for those who find it hard to concentrate. Reciting his mantra as well as his seven lined prayer transforms all difficulties into opportunities for growth and learning.
Padmasambava's mantra is: OM AH HUM VAJRA GURU PADMA SIDDHI HUM
This statue has been filled with mantra rolls, precious stones and incense and was blessed by monks in a ceremony at the "Temple of Heaven on Earth" in Albagnano, Verbania, Italy.
