A brief History of Gangchen Choepeling Monastrery established in the 15th century by Panchen Zangpo Tashi. The monastery flourished for five hundred years with over 600 monks, it was particularly well-know for the pracrice of tantic traditions.

In 1941 Lama Gangchen Rinpoche was born in the nearby village of Trakshuk and was soon recognised as the reincarnation of the founding Lama of this monestery.

This book briefly illustrates the early life of the Lama of  Gangchen until he first came to the West, the "Lama Marco Polo" who while travelling thousands of miles around the globe for decades, never forgot his profound commitment to return to his monastery and to the people from where he had come.
